My C&M combi boiler is playing up again, and I am considering a replacement. But there are so many choices out there that I cant make up my mind. I realise that most of you will have your Favourite make but a few pointers wouldnt come amiss

Large victorian house
5 bedrooms
34ft lounge/diner
Large bathroom

13 rads in all + towel rail

current boiler is C&M se 100

Also what sort of money am i looking at.

Boiler only in same location! ?

How many bathrooms / on suites?

What is your cold water standing pressure and flow rate?

I can tell u what boiler not to get despite all the hype u read

Vaillant (who also own Gloworm & heat line)

Imho lousey mob to deal with rumour has it there customer data base may well be compromised as well ??

If a combi I would deffo go with an ATAG A325EC

If a heat only everyone will have their favourites.

As said it would depend on how many bathrooms/your peak hot water usage is. This will decide whether you need a combi or a hot water cylinder.

Why would anyone want a Atag ? Big ugly white elephant with no service force back up. Decent boiler they may be but a quality brand they are not (yet) and I would much rarth go with a major manufacturer until they become a big player, I won't touch them.

Bloody ugly things them massive too

..

'How the heck' do you expect anyone here to give you a price based on your info.

With your attitude, don't expect to be knocked over in the rush to serve you.

your obviously a bit frustrated.

The engineers that come to quote should be measuring your dynamic pressure and flow, post back when they do

 measure it.

sorry about the negativity earlier

Boiler is in utility room.. plenty of space and there is a sink nearby for a run off.

as for pressure ?? I will wait untill i find this out.

the combi i have has a flow restrictor at 10 litres a minute. At least thats what the manual says...

Check the flow rate at the yard tap when the cold tap in the kitchen is turned on. The smaller the drop, compared to the 21 l/min, the better the pressure.

ok ill try that tomorrow....thanks.

Had an installer round today, he checked the flow rate with what looked like a plastic mug with a slit in the side of it that indicated 30 litres a min. At the kitchen tap.

now waiting for quote.....

thanks ..
