Our galaxy alarm keeps going off! The keypad says alarm in progress' then when I put the code in it won't accept it, I have to keep putting the battery out....any idea's? The battery is fine,
Only recent thing that has changed as we now have a max 3 reader put its fully configured on to the system on online mode and there's no tampers....driving me crazy...

Thanks !!

It sounds like there may be some issue on the RS485 bus. This may be caused by the connection to the MAX, the MAX reader itself, or the MAX address configuration. You need to eliminate the MAX from the equation by removing it.

Before you do that, you may want to monitor the keypad & MAX diagnostics in menu 60 to check that the traffic remains at 100% for a while.

The only message I can find that doesn't make any sense is wrong cd max 10,
This is the max 3 reader, the led is on the max reader, a box with a cross through, what does this mean? Thanks so do i need to remove the max from the system and put it back on again? Cheers..

How did you address the MAX when you installed it ? Does your keypad also have a MAX reader integrated (prox keypad) ?

Try moving the address of the stand-alone MAX using menu 69.2.1 select 1 and then use the menu to adjust the address.

I just connected the data cables then earthed the others as I don't have a strike button or a mag lock, the max 3 was just to unset and set the system, alothough when I hold my fob up it Wony do anything apart from give a tiny bleep, ? It was added by searching for it, it's connected to line 1 on the Galaxy panel and everything else is on line 2, on the system its set on 'online mode' what do I need to do to get it up and running?!

It's on line 1, but what address is it set to ? If you are clashing with the keyprox, then this may be the cause of bus errors.

You need to manually enter the long tag number printed on the black thin tag for the MAX reader against the users account fob number. If you have auto scanned the tag using the keyprox, then the code will not work. The MAX readers decode the tags differently than the keyprox. If you want a user to be able to use their tag at both prox and MAX, then you need to create two accounts with the same privileges - entering one tag entry by scanning with the keyprox and entering the other account tag by entering the printed number.

Thanks' it worked! I have a few think black fobs, how can I use the grey ones? As they don't have a number on! Thanks for helping me galaxy guy! I have another question for you! The set output doesn't activate when I part set the system, I have enabled local part but I don't think it includes set, as I have a smoak cloak in the garage and most of the time the alarm is part set, anyway I can have the set signal to work when I part set the system? Thanks....:)

Try the unset output and change the type to reflex with alternate polarity.

I don't think there's a decoder generally available for the non black tags. PM me if you need a bunch decoded.

Will just have to use the full set option...unless I connected set negative and intruder negative together to the intruder output?

Only have 1 or 2 grey ones, will just have to buy some more black ones. At my work when they set the alarm there is a voice saying the alarm is now set, how do they do this? They have a max 4 reader and a G3-144 alarm same as me. Cheers
