Replacing 3 gang dimmer with standard switch

Hi all.
I have recently had my kitchen moved downstairs (I live in a townhouse) and have mains voltage LED downlights. I bought a Varilight IR V-Pro Trailing Edge dimmer and my Electrician fitted it yesterday. It worked fine for a few hours but now is going haywire and randomly turning on and off by itself!
Looks like it's faulty but I need lights working in my kitchen now!

So I have bought a standard 3 gang switch just to get the lights working for now.
However, after looking at the wiring on my new dimmer and looking at the back of my new switch I'm left confused as to what wires go where. I have successfully wired new switches in the past but have not gone from a dimmer like this to a standard switch.

Not sure if it's clear in the above photo but there is also a grey wire with blue tape on it not connected to anything.

You will note that the new switch has two lines which divide it into three switches.

Just swap your live and load from the dimmer to Com and L1 for each switch respectively.

As above note the way the new plastic switch is divided into three section one for each gang (com L1 L2 x 3) one section is upside down.
Looking at your picture of the existing dimmer switch, you have 3 perm Lives (1 brown and two red) they are terminated at the com of each gang. Then you have 3 switch lives (black brown sleeve?, black sleeved red, black sleeved yellow), these are then terminated at the L1 terminal of each associated gang.
So
Gang 1 Brown to com with black sleeved browm at L1
Gang 2 Red to com with black sleeved mostly red at L1
Gang 3 Red to com with black sleeved mosty yellow at L1
Terminate all the CPCs (earths) to the earth terminal on the backbox
The grey is left as it is.
The first black looks like it may have a brown sleeve on, I maybe wrong?

The lamps are dimmable yes. It's mainly one of the gangs but the other is doing it too just a lot less frequently. The 3rd gang is conected to a standard light fitting which hasn't got a bulb in so can't test it.

The lights may be dimmable, but do they meet the minimum load requirements of the dimmer?

If you have more than the minimum size load and compatible bulbs then it sounds like the dimmer hasn't been set up properly. Assuming the firmware is 10B or later (the firmware is usually on a sticker on the side of the dimmer module) check the instructions they will show you how to change the mode setting for the problems you are encountering.

It is no illusion, but the OP did state

Appreciate it was done in a hurry, but it's not very safe unless some other precaution is taken?

Standard 3gang doesn't automatically mean a 1g plate though does it?

Yes it's not ideal. There is a gap of course but I've tucked all cables behind plate and duck taped over the gap for now. I'm going to buy a 3 gang switch to fit existing back box. There are some available online.
