Yes, they are well made machines.
Obviously it depends what use you have for it, but the bigger the better. Belt drive is best, minimum 50 litre tank.
If the motor is 3hp, it will need to be hard wired.
I have a large Machine Mart compressor, 100 ltr tank, 3hp, 14.5 cfm and it drives windy tools reasonably well. I only wish it could handle larger
diameter air hose!

My own compressor has two identical 1/4BSP outlets, and the largest air hose they can comfortably handle is 10mm internal diameter.
This is usually ok for a 1/2" air gun (with a short hose) but if I use a longer hose, or a 3/4" inch gun everything struggles.
A modification would involve rebushing the outlets themselves or maybe joining the two together.
Maybe I'll get round to it one day!
