Think we can all agree the 'suits' are generally well known for taking the pizz. They are part of the protected ruling class sharks. Legalised thieves mostly and another industry that needs serious restructuring. Yours was a poor comparison imo and perhaps a more realistic one is a mechanic for instanceWhy some on here feel so gifted and self important and consider themselves entitled to charge people exorbitant amounts of money is beyond me and I expect most other reasonable people too. Maybe that is why some people are reluctant to employ an GHE and feel pressured to carry out their own repairs because they simply haven't the money. Which I fully acknowledge is mostly illegal, can be dangerous and even have catastrophic consequences.
Perhaps you are lucky enough never to need to employ a dentist, solicitor or accountant.
But if you did you would find that dentists charge about £200 ph in their workshop which you have to get to.
Solicitors start at about £150 ph and most I come across charge between £300-£400 or more! Again that's in their office which you have to travel to if you want to speak to them face to face.
Accountants appear a little more reasonable! most charge from £80 ph to £160 ph. But what is hidden is that, just like solicitors, most of the work they do for you is done by junior employees on quite normal salaries.
But all of these people are doing the work at THEIR premises.
Travelling to customers is usually a significant proportion of the working day and so has to be covered from the chargeable parts of the work.

I'm not saying good ghe should work for peanuts, far from it. Most of you are no doubt very skilled and deserve a good wage..It's just a shame there's so many rouges about.
Hmmmm. And yet when you slated the cooker guy, you made no mention of client dissatisfaction withh the work completed - apart from the £££'s. And he wasn't even makimg a particularly "ggod" wage.
Huh? She was dissatisfied with what he charged her, thought that was abundantly clear. So you think £40 for 30 mins of this mans time is ok? That's roughly £500 a day!Hmmmm. That old lady earning a basic state pension of £115 wk has to live on that for about a month!
Terrible comment. Are you all thoroughly heartless sharks? There must be some decent humans amongst you? That old lady earning a basic state pension of £115 wk has to live on that for about a month!
To be fair though if the old girl is retired she's had a long time to save up for it

You're coming across as a bit slippery if you don't mind me saying. If you're paid on a paye salary do you take home what you earn?Yet again you think the amount charged is the amount earnt. Fool.
