Hello,

I have a stone (travetine) bath, but I have no waste for it. Standard won't work. It needs to look like a basin waste but be 1 1/2 inch rather than 1 1/4.

I managed to find this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bath-Wast...676705?hash=item27fd9d6ae1:g:u8gAAOSwqu9VMkZJ

But the bath is 65mm thick. So it won't work.

I know this type of bath is pretty rare, but there must be an off the shelf option.

Picture of bath attached for reference.

Hello,

Thanks both for the suggestions.

Try this:

http://www.plumbase.co.uk/belfast-sink-unslotted-waste-6142-2225106

It is a Belfast sink waste but same size for bath waste flange.

Can you ask the shop where you bought the bath from if the has the bath waste fitting as well?

Daniel.

That looks like it could/would work, but we wanted the pop up style, this bath was incredibly expensive, and that plug would somewhat detract. I tried the company that imported these baths and they couldn't help. I'm not sure if this bath was a complete one off. Or if there was another sold. But either way, waste was an issue. (which is annoying)

I found another UK company that sell something similar so i'm going to try them.

I might be able to buy one of those though and machine an insert to make it a "pop up" waste.

Its a very uncommon fitting to be honest. assuming the bath has no overflow?

It doesn't have an overflow, unfortunately though the description in the add is incorrect. If you read the dimensions of the drawing it turns out to be 1 1/4". Thanks for the suggestion though :)

Who supplied the bath? Surely they can supply a waste for it?

If not then something like this?

A got the bath from a high end house renovator in london and it was on its own.

I have spoken to somebody that makes/imports stone baths to UK and he has the wastes custom made.

The one you linked is a basin waste again so 1 1/4. More importantly the flange is 60mm rather than 70.

I have found this, which might help anybody searching, but its slotted, and might not be long enough for what i want so the search continues.

If you look at the dimensions again Ricky, the threaded shank of the waste is actually 1 1/2" dia not 1 1/4" even though it does state it's a basin waste, so it is the size you need.
If the top of the waste isn't large enough for the waste rebate then fair enough. Though a spacer may be found to take that up.

I've just called them an ordered. But I fear it will dimensionally be correct at 1.5" but actually be a 1 1/4 BSP thread which will be infact smaller.

Can you not confirm with them before they dispatch as that could be deemed as misleading or return as that could give you a just reason to refuse.

I possibly could have, I did ask but he wasn't that sure, for the cost I guess it doesn't matter and its worth one last shot. I could probably use it on another basin or something.

It arrived today but was another basin waste. The seals looked better and it was longer so I decided to try it anyway. It doesn't leak, so I suppose that's a plus but it doesn't look right in the bath and it will leave a small amount of water surrounding the plug. I'm going to leave it for now until I can find/make something else.

Thanks all for the help though.
