Shaker has said (in an interview) He was in Afghanistan to make things better for his family. (his words, not mine)
And your point is? Or is this more woolly thinking:
"Well, he was going to a foreign country, there were some extremist groups in that country, therefore he must have been going to work with the extremist groups. After all he is a Muslim and foreign, and that's what they do innit guv. "
Only recently there was a case of an African American who has been in prison in America for over 20 years for a murder he did not commit. Weeks after he was taken into custody, a robbery occurred with the same vehicle and modus operandi. The person who committed that robbery was imprisoned for the murder before the other man was wrongfully convicted for the
same murder. A judge said that there was a tendency in America to not care if a black person was innocent, since as a group they are considered criminals, so if you lock one up for a crime he did not commit, it does not matter, as he will have committed other crimes, you just failed to catch him. Incidentally a British newspaper, I think it was the Sun, was instrumental in whipping up a storm against the wrong suspect, helping to get him convicted. They had some nice self righteous stories.
