Is it really a question of guilt or innocence

Shaker has said (in an interview) He was in Afghanistan to make things better for his family. (his words, not mine)

And your point is? Or is this more woolly thinking:

.

The whole quote was (i took) a reference to the spurious comparison of driving an aid truck for a fortnight, and shipping yourself, wife, and kids, into a (at best) lawless region.
And wasn't his wife pregnantat the time, as well?
Woolly thinking? I think that is the best that could be attributed to SA.
Just to put matters straight, I think I've been misquoted in the above.

Sorry, corrected.

Sorry wwt, The Sun couldn't whip up a storm in a fish bowl, let alone have an influence on the Americal judicial system.

Thanks pal, I knew I could rely on you to put forward the real story. You and some others here have this amazing ability to just know things, I'm awestruck. I was naively relying on a story by some jumped up reporters:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-5ad914e1-afed-4e0d-b7ab-754bf3d0b1e6

Should I pass on your details to the reporters to put them straight? :)

Lol.
I was under the impression you think the BBC is a brainwashing machine, responsible for so many incidents of false reporting.

I know about the whole sorry tail and dreadful miscarriage of justice but your claims are slightly exaggerated, as per.

As usual it's the usual "you and others on here etc.

Not so, and contrary to what you stated, I did not claim the Sun influenced the American judicial system. I also have not claimed the BBC is a brain washing machine. I have claimed it has a leftie bias. Not quite the same thing.

"Well, he was going to a foreign country, there were some extremist groups in that country, therefore he must have been going to work with the extremist groups. After all he is a Muslim and foreign, and that's what they do innit guv. "

Only recently there was a case of an African American who has been in prison in America for over 20 years for a murder he did not commit. Weeks after he was taken into custody, a robbery occurred with the same vehicle and modus operandi. The person who committed that robbery was imprisoned for the murder before the other man was wrongfully convicted for the same murder. A judge said that there was a tendency in America to not care if a black person was innocent, since as a group they are considered criminals, so if you lock one up for a crime he did not commit, it does not matter, as he will have committed other crimes, you just failed to catch him. Incidentally a British newspaper, I think it was the Sun, was instrumental in whipping up a storm against the wrong suspect, helping to get him convicted. They had some nice self righteous stories.

You talk some crap.
This is what you wrote

If you don't believe the Sun could whip up a storm, you have been living in a cave for all of your adult life. Sun readers love a simplistic one sided story of good versus evil. Just like on this forum, eh?

I doubt they influenced the American judicial system. They publicised the case, put up a reward, which encouraged 'witnesses' to come forward, and got the American press interested, which may have been significant in the conviction. They also used their usual emotional unbalanced approach, now what a surprise. I suspect the 'American judicial system', whatever that phrase means, had not even heard of the Sun.

Sun readers like simplistic one sided stories, that generalising, isn't it?

Bit like saying all Muslims are terrorists.

I bet you make your friends giggle.

The Sun is full of simplistic one sided stories. And tits. No, you're right, I was wrong, Sun readers like simplistic one sided stories, and tits. :)

Perhaps you think that shallow comic is a paragon of in depth factual reporting? o_O

Depends how you define tits, but I'm pretty sure Murdoch got rid of the bared nipple some months ago.
