Put it all back together.
Make sure the green light is on the BDR.
Hold down the spanner and reset buttons together.
Press the plus button until you get to the number 15.
Press the spanner button again.
What numbers are then on the screen?
Have you tried joining A & B together yet?

As Dan says parameter 1 is almost certainly set to 2 instead of 0 
when turning the power back on to the boiler, it cycled 2, 3, 4, 7 and is now blank.

Use '-' button until main screen reads 0 then press the far right button (bucket with arrow) then all should be sorted

Turn the blue valve....
And make sure the system pressure is up and the boiler bled of air.
Turn the boiler back off an on again. You want it to stay in status 5 at least until things start to get hot.
Status 1 means the boiler knows it is supposed to be working, but is too hot internally. Lack of circulation being the principal cause at this stage of the job.

Press the boiler's power button.
The numbers in the display are the system pressure - should be between 1 and 2.
There is a radiator style bleed key on the top left of the boiler.
