I'm trying to find thea suitable PIR for a 10m long, open topped orridor where I can really only wire at the end of the corridor due to cosmetic reasons.

I've had a good look around, but all the pirs I've seen are for crossing beams and provide a wide angle of view, so not sensitive enough for someone walking towards the PIR: I can currently walk to within 3m of it before it activates, but if I take a sideways step at 10m it activates

I'm looking for one tuned to picking up someone walking straight at it with a small fov of about 15 degrees, does such exist?

Thanks in advance.

The docs also day less sensitive if walking directly towards the pir (in pictures)
I think that's true of virtually any PIR. A doppler microwave detector might be a better bet.

Kind Regards, John
Good shout, not sure why I didn't think of that! Thanks

Can you use a wireless PIR if you can get a mains supply at each end, but can't have a cable along the length?

Clipsal infrascan will do the job.
Thanks for the suggestion, however the instructions say
In all cases, locate the Infrascan so that the ‘approach path’ is across the ‘field of view’ and not directly towards the Infrascan'

I think I'm sorted with a microwave Doppler sensor, and hoping it doesn't interfere with WiFi took much!
