Hi.

I need to remove a radiator to get to the wall behind it and I need to get a thermostatic radiator valve shut off cap. Does it matter which type I get? i.e. are they universal? I've tried googling it and there are Myson caps and other types so not sure?? I mean, does it matter?! See the picture for the type of valve I have.

Thanks!

The valve will shut off by turning it all the way down (unless it's not working).

It looks like a Drayton TRV3.....you need the proper decorators cap, and I put a coin under it too, just to keep the pin thoroughly depressed!
John :)

I've read that these types of valves don't actually turn off if they only have a frost symbol and not an "OFF" setting. Mine only has the frost symbol.

You should always use a blanking cap on TRVs, I use them on the lockshields also... Just to be sure ;)
