Condensing boilers refers to efficiency.

Combination boiler refers to the lack of hot water cylinder.

You can have boilers that are condensing and non condensing, combination, heat only and system.

You have a non condensing combination boiler that would almost certainly have been illegally fitted if after January 2005 (or was it April?)

Pretty silly calling both a non condensing boiler and a condensing one a "Worcester 28i Junior" !

They don't tony. They added the word greenstar for the condensing range.

Is it silly that you can buy a vw golf. And also a vw golf gti?

Or even worse, an Audi A3, which is the same Bavarian sh|tbox in frilly knickers?

I think maybe you need to clarify exactly which boiler you have, as people here are getting their knickers in a twist over whether you have a condensing or non-condensing version. A picture will help

thanks all i found it quite amusing you all taking the mick out of my boiler


tbh its a bit of a pain works lovely when its going but i can see myself throwing parts at it. my old house 30 year old boiler cost a bit to run but never went wrong. thats progress for you

anyway. got home temp indoors was what i set it at so the heating has been working

decided to turn it up a bit first of all it didnt fire at all even though the wireless stat (digistat) said it did. so i reset it again, it fired and run whilst luke warm only again, when it starts the boiler fires up fine and its red hot through the flow for a second or 2 then the boiler slows to this luke warm bit (does this rule out the diverter)
i messed with the radiator temp a few times and finally got it to run hot

any ideas. its not such an issue this time of year im dreading any cold weather already

The boiler runs on low rate for a little while when it first fires but then should ramp up to full pretty soon. If it's staying on low then there's likely a blockage somewhere so the temperature rise is too fast.

ive managed to find this while trawling through search after search. its almost a carbon copy of my issue. is the diverter valve a diy job. i did the expansion vessel so have a good idea of whats inside

Here is where it connects to the items on eBay show the diverted valve as something else even though this is where all the hot water and central heating pipes join

Put the cover back on and call an rgi ffs

its amazing how much info they want to give then drop a bomb shell , op , its not a diy job you have broken the room seal on boiler we can not advise on repair.
