Loop-in at switch

Fair enough, albeit it's hard to see why they've bothered to put that earth strap (between the screw holes) if there's no metal involved.

Whatever, if that's the case, you could just connect the earths to the backbox (if metal). It's hard to see what useful function a flylead would serve, but it would do no harm to fit one. If the backbox is plastic, then just connect the earths that earth terminal on the switch.

Kind Regards, John

I believe click just make one 'backplate' for their screwless switches regardless of whether they're a metal or plastic front plate

Eeeeewwwww.

So, what is actually wrong with Clipsal?

They have plastic covers over the screws, good for old unearthed lighting circuits. The modules can be changed on the switch plates so you can build a bespoke unit such as an intermediate and two way on one plate. Also they don't break if someone drops them, they bounce.

That's cos they're made of Jelly and flex like it...:(

IMO, they look really cheap and nasty. Unless fitted in Oz, Singapore etc, where they look good against the competition...

Thanks. That would make sense. As I've said/implied, I don't think I've seen a 'screwless' switch with a plastic front plate, but from what you and the OP are saying, they clearly exist!
