Screwfix do Aquaprufe, which I may get.
Thinking about it! There has to be a seal between the wall and the shower base as well.

Not to slate but I find builders actually manage to fook up more then they fix with plumbing/heating, is he subbing the work out to trades or doing it himself? Are you just doing the bathroom or renovating a house? Obviously good and bad for everything so not stereotyping just from experience on jobs I end up going to clean up after em.
