my plumber who is fitting our boiler and is gas safe is struggling with wiring the vr66.

He has wired it and gets a ebus communication error (red led light which happens about 5 minutes after booting up)

Any ideas.

Please note I am not wiring it. I am assisting my gas safe plumber.

Why has he got brown in N and blue in L on the motorised valves.

Not saying that's what's causing the error but doesn't seem right.

Is this the same muppet who's making a hash of installing your bathroom? Why haven't you sacked him yet? He's clearly incompetent

good spot. i have no experience of these but the neutral isn't going into the neutral slot on the mains coming in either. is that right?

No a different plumber. But this control panel is generally difficult to install. I had 1 boiler man who said they refuse to fit these.

Good spot. I think the picture maybe deceiving but the 230v was done by a sparky

Well there's something strange going on with the mains supply.

The flex from the fused spur looks to be either incorrectly connected to the control board or it's looped through the boiler in some way.

Green plug live neutral and earth required, no neutral wired.
Red plug ch1 live and neutral wrong
Yellow plug live and neutral wrong
Orange switch wires from motorised valves should fire boiler. (Unless wiring diagram and install requirements dictates otherwise)

I'm not a fan of vaillant tbh, and don't fit them , but if I'm right from those pics the ebus connection is the least of your worries. Your sparkle and plumber are lacking the basics.

It's a ****ing disgrace.
Sack your sparky and your plumber.
They're knobheads.

Unless it's you doing the work? .........

How much are you paying your plumber? I bet he's not on here trying to fix his cock up!

Where does the neutral go on the lh 3 core go?

Your sparkle has got 4 wires out of 9 in the right place.
Unless he's colour blind then it's a free for all.

Ok as stated on forum. I found this manual from the older vr65(which is clearer than the vr66 manual)

So obvisouly the valves N and L need to be switched . I can confirm(the N and L is correct) on the 230v side ( picture is deceiving)
