I've just been told the above by someone, is there any truth in this?

Dan as we both know there was a policy that a percentage of all new-build had to be renewable by 2016, not sure what happened to that one but certainly not happening here, that was translated by google warriors to all new builds have to be renewable, total Bollooks

It was a contractor I got chatting to, I hadn't heard anything about it and just wondered if anyone else knew anything of it

Well T if it says so in the utility week then it must be true, what does that small s after 2020 mean ?

Unless Blowhardgreen has another lodge meeting I suppose

Irrelevent and dis-respectful.

Two people have mentioned this policy of not providing gas to new builds as a means to reduce carbon emmisions and push people words micro renewable energy sources for domestic properties. One is an architect and one has a senior role employed by a supplier of gas fueled heating equipment. Both reliable sources.

I have put the question to a person who is better able to answer but maybe constrained by commercial confidentiality.

Yes of course it's true, soon most of us will be living on the moon and nationalgrid won't extend the pipe there, and even if they did there is no oxygen available for combustion anyway. Also as petrol / diesel cars are being phased out, the vast number of new power stations, solar and wind farms constructed to power our electric vehicles will also provide us with cheap unlimited electricity, so we won't need gas anyway. ;)

@bernardgreen do you really believe that the government and OFGEM tell the energy suppliers what they can and cant do ???? they might publicize what they have decided at their meetings, but the energy suppliers do what they want.

If they won't do what OFGEM want, the government will get Bernie's bridge club mafia to go round and sort them out.
