Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

If you set the location to a place other than your home, surely the location sensing (using IFTTT) to set triggers as you leave/approach home wont work?

Does anyone know if you buy the vSmart pack (system boiler), does it come with the VR66 wiring module?
I can't find out what makes it a "pack" if it doesn't actually come with it.

As far as I'm aware, the VSMART doesn't have location sensitiveness, at least I haven't read anything about it.

I believe vSmart works with IFTTT and with that, you can configure your installation to switch off/on your heating as you leave/approach your home.

And yes, the Grahams website is the only one I've found that specifically mentions the VR66 being included in the pack.

You're right, I have just seen the IFTTT app in Google Play, I didn't know that. In this case yes, I'm afraid it will not work with a different location.

Are you able to set your location to you actual home but tweak the heating curve so that you get the desired effect?
Or have you already tried that?

Yes, yo can do that, of course. The only problem is if in a single moment the external T is above the internal T. Remember that the VSMAR read the external T from internet. In this case, it considers that there is no heat losses and the boiler does not work.

I have to say that everything else is fine for me.

No, I have an Ecotec Boiler.

I'm still tuning the heating curve, but the point is to understand how does it work. I do believe that it is the problem where I live. This link was helpful for me:

I don't know if the attached figure belongs to a Vaillant system, but it is useful to understand how the WC works.

The main awkward for me is that the VSMART is a bit too smart, IMO. I would prefer a sort of Calormatic 350f with remote control, but this solution was far far too expensive (multiMATIC VRC 700 + VR900).

Yes the VRC700 setup does seem to tick all our boxes, but as you say it's a lot more expensive (if including the VR900 module). Plus there doesn't seem to be a great deal of info in the UK for it.

Do you have a Vailliant hot water cylinder with the Vailliant sensor plugged in to your VR66?

No, I don't have a hot water cilinder, so I don't need the VR66 module. I just have the VSMART with its gateway.

No problem at all! If a combi boiler is a boiler + hot water, I think so. Anyway, I have an Ecotec PLUS 236 (not sure right now, but I think it's the exact model).

Yes you have a combi, so you don't have an additional hot water storage cylinder.

The vsmart can also work with a hot water cylinder if you have one.
