Finally had an unvented HW cylinder fitted today, my mate the plumber was too busy, so got a plumber I saw working in our street to fit one instead. I was at work and left them to it and came back to find it all done. Impressed with the hot water pressure now, but not sure it's been fitted quite right, want to be armed with the right info before going back to them to ask to sort it.
The previous system was completely open vented in a Y plan with 3 port valve. It's been left open vented for the central heating, retaining the 3 port valve, but there is no additional zone valve for the HW cylinder now - as far as I know, that isn't acceptable.
The boiler does have a limit stat, the stat on the new cylinder is a 'dual stat' from what it's marked up as with control and limit, but I'm not sure if either of those removes the need for an additional 2 port valve. Cylinder is made by RM cylinders, possibly a Stelflow, MIs for that model state it needs an additional zone valve from what I can make out.
Also should I have had some paperwork to prove it has been registered etc, I haven't had anything, but maybe he is waiting for payment, or just hasn't done it yet
thanks in advance
