Large Smartphone

As regular readers will know, I am a fan of large screen phones, mainly because my eyesight isn't 100%.

I began with a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3", and currently own a Huawei MediaPad X2 7".

Does anyone own a large screen smartphone (6"+) and if so, what is it?

Large screens will have greater resolution (smaller dots) so text and icons will be smaller.

All Android phones and tablets have accessibility options in the settings to alter the display.

Yea but our Secure is special and must have the best. Personally I've missed these kinds of threads, I still can't decide which toilet roll to buy.

Ignore the sarcasm Secure, I know where you're coming from. I haven't managed to get a good pair of Vari specs in the last 5 years, so I've been moving to larger screens. Currently on a 5.5", but looking to go to the One plus 5T next, 6"

Not always so straightforward. Screen size goes up, but pixel size doesn't always increase. When it does, it smooths out the jagged lines. But as you say, the accessibility section will let you change the font size, screen resolution and pinch to zoom options, but that means you've got to be moving around the screen to see it all.

I was given a Galaxy Mega a few years back.
I passed it on to the wife - a prolific user.
No problems with the kit, the bigger screen is good - My eyes, although ancient are not too bad.
'Twas the overall size of the phone which put me off, I like a breast pocket size moby.

Have you explored a tablet or 'Phablet' which can utilise a sim card ?

Maybe an app (SideSync ? ) which can allow mirroring an appropriate moby using a standard (sim-less) tablet ?

Go to settings, then accessibility, then font size. There should be other options in there to allow magnification etc.

Pip, I've been looking at tablets, but those that do have dialling functionality seem to only have a speaker output, ie everyone can hear.

The app sounds handy but then you'd have to carry two bits of kit.

Woody, were you behaving inappropriately towards young girls at that Presidents Club do?

FMT, you will be pleased to learn I have solved the toilet roll problem: 3 x 18 packs at Farm Foods for a tenner (may have recently gone up to £12, but still a bargain).

As for having the best, no, not by a long chalk. However, I like to try and buy the best I can within my budget, as I'm sure we all strive to do.
