Pressure vessels and leaking overflow

Tank spec

Hi all

I have the above vessels connected to my CH/HW system. The overflows leak outside the house primarily when the HW is active and I’ve checked the pressure of each vessel with the system off. The red vessel (CH I think) shows 1 bar and the white shows nothing at all.....

Hot water tank spec on the side suggests 3 bar for the connected pressure vessel so should I just pump the white one back up?

Both need to pressure to be released for it's relative system before checking the EV's pre-charge. The white vessel will be for an un-vented hot water cylinder. You need a qualified engineer in to ensure it is suitably setup to safeguard your un-vented cylinder .... the pressure needs to be taken out the system before the vessel is pre-charged ...... aaaaaand it needs to be pre-charged to match the system design pressure as set at the inlet.

Not quite, you need to turn off the cold water supply to it first and turn on a hot tap and leave it open. Then when the pressure is relieved you can pump it up. Then finally close the tap and turn on the cold water again.
Otherwise the pressure will go up quickly but you won't have actually put any air in.

True he's basically got to get 54l of extra air in there somehow.

10 pumps per litre if we're lucky that's 540 pumps
1 pump per second that's 10 minutes min...
Op can decide if they fancy it or get a compressor!

Even worse!
How do you get that, I make it 18l, to add 3bar above ambient that would be 4bar absolute, will have 18l in already so add another 3x18l into it.
Of course the work done will be exponential as you'd have to work against 3bar pressure for the last stroke.
Glad I don't have that to charge by hand, lay off the gym for a day and do that instead

But...op, using your method, he'd be pushing through the cylinder volume.

Exactly, that's why you're so valuable to the forum Dan!
To be fair I could make it clearer I'm not a pro, but wiring it on every post looks stupid.
