Zelio Logic 2 Smart Relay PLC

I've not done anything with PLCs before but have a project I'd like to automate at home.

Is anyone familiar with this model? Specifically, I need to control 2 x 240V outputs based on 4 x 240V inputs. I believe this would be appropriate:

Any pointers on getting started? Does this come with a USB/serial lead to program it?

All the manuals and programming information are there. I seems you need the special software and a special USB interface cable to program these.

However - some of the larger module in this series have an LCD display which allows to program from the device itself - looks f'ing complicated however.

Thanks, looks like the USB adapter is required to program it. In which case, the Allen Bradley 810 may work out cheaper (it too requires a USB adapter, but it's significantly cheaper).

I was hoping someone could suggest a cheap PLC for a very simple use case - to be able to control AC outputs dependent on multiple AC inputs for boiler control.

I need to monitor 3 x 240V inputs and switch 2 x 240V output. However, every time one of the inputs is activated, I need one of the outputs to disengage for a period of time before re-engaging.

So as an example:

1. Input 1 is 240V. Output 1 goes to 240V. Output 2 goes to 240V.
2. Input 1 is off. Output 1 and Output 2 go to off.
3. Input 2 is 240V. Output 1 goes to 240V. Output 2 goes to 240V.
4. Input 1 goes to 240V. Output 1 goes to off for 'x' seconds, then goes to 240V. Output 2 stays at 240V.
5. Input 2 is off. Output 1 and 2 stay on.
6. Input 1 is off. Output 1 and Output 2 go to off.

Pretty sure what you've linked is just an IO expansion and no good on its own. The small zelio PLCs need a special lead which is additional cost and a pain.
Many new small PLCs now such as a Siemens LOGO or Allen Bradley 820 use ethernet to program so no special cable, and the software can be downloaded for free. Also the software is professional, well documented and easy to use.
Of course for a one off home job, its probably good enough to just use a cheap chinese PLC off ebay or amazon etc and do battle with the software once.

Thanks. Would you say that around about £100 is right for a 240V 4 input, 2 output PLC?

Just want to ensure I'm not way off the mark in terms of what I'm looking at.

I have used Siemens Logo for a few panels I have built, there is evaluation software on the website and a good forum for queries

One more vote for the Siemens Logo - though it's "a few years" now since I last used one. When they first appeared, it was a significant step in cost/function and accessibility in low end PLC.
The software does either ladder logic or block functions. I used the latter as it was then very much like digital logic design with discrete TTL or CMOS chips - ah, the days of building everything with 74LS and 4000 series chips.

When I was programming Siemens software was expensive so we never used that make. Ladder is normally not to bad to program in don't think any still use booleen logic as method to program plc but how some one would find programming I don't know. To day there are other options to the full blown plc.

I would say start out with what you want to do there may be a easier or cheaper method.
