Putting decking on top of brick patio

Hi, I want to build some decking, we currently have patio bricks and ive got 100s of spare bricks. Can i simply build the frame on top and use spare bricks perhaps cemented in place as pillars/fixing points?

Additionally i want to make it the same level ish as the house floor height, so will raise it up and place the beginning of the decking close to the bricks of the house, but leave a gap for air to circulate. Is that ok?

On your second question, I'd say no problem - loads of folk build decking to threshold height, and as you say, as long as the DPC isn't compromised its all good.

Not sure what you're suggesting on your first point - building brick pillars to rest decking frame on, or just laying lots of individual bricks about? What is currently there, and how much height are you looking to add? Pictures would be great if can.

Bit of an old photo as theres turf etc now, but the LHS by the wheel barrow is raised so basically i was considering coming 1 brick high there and battons resting in bricks that height and 2 bricks in height for the RHS or similar. So basically bricks 1 or 2 high cemented together wo they are fixed and battons ontop of those, just not aire if cementing 2 x bricks ontop of each other would be long lasting support for the joists etc?

Looks like that's a solid (patio?) base you'd be building it on, in which case just mix a little mortar and set your bricks on it. You can use your mortar to ensure matching heights. I'm not sure resting your decking on "floating" (unsecured) bricks is ideal, but I guess if the decking frame is big enough it's own weight will give a little stability. If you've dug up the patio and are left with earth, how about digging some holes at appropriate spaces (in a grid), pouring some readymix or postcrete in, and then mortaring bricks on top of each of these foundations? Again, you'd have to make sure they're all at the same height though.

One quick question, due to wanting it to be the same level as the house floors ish, without removing render i cant easily fit ledgers to all the house walls, so would i be able to fit these/screw the ledgers to the ground blocks instead?

Not sure I'm understanding your question Thy but probably best to leave house thresholds/ledges untouched and a small gap before starting the decking. You wont notice the gap once finished, and thresholds perform an important task taking rainwater away from the render beneath.
