Hungary and polands view of migrants ....

Looking at the dialogue which brought out his strange statement, I gather R&C thinks that anyone who thinks tenants should live in home fit for human habitation is a socialist.

And he doesn't.

Can you confirm that, R&C?

I gather ajstone agrees with him on both counts.

As usual Johnny has to make up BS in place of an argument. Not worth replying to, except to ask Johnny where I said anyone who thinks tenants should live anywhere fit for human habitation is a socialist.

Of course its really the socialists and naïve liberals who make people live in slums due to their obsession with uncontrolled immigration. He's not heard of the thousands who live in converted garages and sheds.

And Kantalkrot has no argument at all, just the usual puerile insults.

My long post

Some of them are plumbers, MPs and the like, making extra money out of the housing shortage....

...This story is also filed as "Tories vote down law requiring landlords make their homes fit for human habitation"

and you respond whining about

The hypocrisy of socialists

you've had a bit of time now. Have you been able to think of an excuse for your stupidity?

So what is a Tory government that has done nothing to stop immigration - ? Are they naive liberals or socialist?

I am not here defending immigration but just trying to decipher your twisted logic. There wasn't much immigration in the 50s and 60s but people were still living in slums / poor accommodation.

When you put forward a logical argument maybe I will desist from calling you out.

You must be remarkably evil if you think you can dream up an excuse why rental homes should not be fit for human habitation.

I'd be very interested to see you try to find any posts from me supporting mass immigration.

Go on, try.

The stupidity of neo-fascists is amazing

It's the role of the local authority to enforce such shyte and they do a bad enough job as it is enforcing the current legislation. You can't expect it to police the private sector as well as the public housing sector as well.

Furthermore it's not the role of private landlords to check migrants (right to rent). This is a government failure that has allowed thousands of migrants to set up here illegally. As was said earlier you are on the side of mass immigration and poor living standards are one of the byproduct of this. Most of these illegals are wanting cheap squat rooms because they want somewhere to rest their head at night before going off to their black market 'job' which they most likely don't pay tax on. The money doesn't recirculate it goes back home.

Do you realise the amount of resources it takes to prosecute one 'bad' landlord from the gathering of evidence to the court case ? And that's if they even succeed in getting the case to court at all. Meanwhile the same 'liberated' migrants / people are displaced and off they go to find another black market squat room elsewhere and the cycle repeats itself. You forget in many cases the landlord is a migrant themselves that managed to get on the property ladder. They are close to impossible to prosecute because they go back to their home countries or sell up and buy another place elsewhere in the country and the cycle repeats itself.

You fail to see there is a demand for dirt cheap squat rooms. All the legislation does is push them further underground. The landlords most affected by the ever increasing paperwork now required are the good ones. And as you have no idea what's involved in being a landlord yourself you should avoid critisising them unduly. Of course as a neo-marxist you don't like the idea of private property anyway of course.

Is that your excuse for saying tenants should not have the right to live in homes fit for human habitation?

It's worthless.

They have the right to live where they like.

If you don't like where you live find somewhere else.

It does not matter how many times the argument for migrants being the cause of society's problems is soundly refuted, the RWR still keep trotting out the same old arguments, time and time again.

Do bigoted plumbers behave the same on site: there is a problem, a plumber offers his explanation, which is refuted by anyone with a brain, but the plumber still keeps trotting out the same old argument?

That does not deal with the rogue landlords offering and charging rent for sub-standard premises.
I doubt if tenants are aware of their legal rights.
(are landlords aware of their legal responsibilities?)

You fool. Migrants want those premises because they are cheap.

Over regulation forces good landlords into putting up their prices as they have to comply with more and more legislation, and why shouldnt they ? Again the legislation hurts the good landlords not the bad ones. A good landlord will do the right thing without being compelled through force. You have got this all wrong.

Yes many landlords are aware of their legal responsibilities it's shoved down their throats constantly. And many bad landlords will continue to be rouge and ignore all guidelines. Like john you have no idea what's involved in being a landlord.

While you know all of what is involved in being a rogue landlord, offering substandard premises for cheap rent?

Not much to disagree here - the thrust of the argument. But some specifics. Legal migrants outnumber illegal migrants.

As to karl Marx - you don't understand his argument. He was not against private property rights but against the private ownership of the means of production because it would lead to concentrations of power and wealth - such as corporates - he was was for the individual man owning and controlling his own means of production.

I don't agree with other parts of his analysis but on this you would be hard pressed to disagree.

The hypocrisy. Didnt you complain about your own street and I asked why not move. Moving is not as simple a solution as you make out.
