Fibre washer tap connector

When tightening a No.62 with a fibre washer how tight do others tend to go? Hand tight then 1/4 turn or 1/2 thanks.

I suck them first, then as tight as they need to be.

Do you mean put them in your mouth so they are wet/ have swollen abit before using?
