A Novel Idea of Brexit

Might as well have access to the single market in return for the free movement of people. Give and take.
Thus the 'status quo', but without any decision making abilities...

So under that situation, what does the UK actually stand to gain?

So under that situation, what does the UK actually stand to gain?

- Access to the single market.
- Skilled EU workers.
- £350,000,000 a week.

Are the EU likely to make any stupid decisions? Straight bananas?

- Access to the single market.
- Skilled EU workers.
We already have that...

- £350,000,000 a week.
It never was anywhere near that figure due to the rebate...
(does anyone still believe what was on that red bus )

And the 'subs' for remaining in the club without voting rights will outweigh the contribution we pay now...

So again...

What does the UK actually stand to gain?

Are you suggesting that if UK allowed free movement of people, the accusation of Brexiteers being racist could not be applied?
Well that's another excellent reason to adopt my idea. The notion that Brexiteers are racist is dismissed in one swoop.

What's not to like?

You've missed the point.

If it's so easy to dismiss what basis was there to make it in the first place?

In fact, considering you'll stop at very little to have the opportunity to brand someone a racist, I'm shocked you've just suggested it.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way...

Otherwise nobody would be in the club

You of course have also forgotten the re-investment into the UK from EU funds...

So what figure can you now come up with from the £350,000,000 a week (minus the rebate) and then minus the re-investment?

Any idea?

Nobody would be in the club. Now there’s an idea.

On page 1 where I said:

Contribute to EU projects that benefit the UK

That, for me, could connect the reinvestment.

For example, if France wanted to improve the port at Calais we could contribute if we thought it would benefit the UK.

If the EU wanted to move their office from Brussels to Strasbourg we could choose not to contribute.

Could that fee be that we allow free movement of EU people or does it have to be money?

Membership of the Single Market is one of the Four Freedoms. It is indivisible from the others.

Money alone will not buy it.

This should not be news to anybody.

Least of all Theresa May, the UK Government, or Brexer campaigners.

Here it is again, in a larger font so it's easier for you to read.

What happens to popular 'everyone who voted leave is racist' narrative then?

I answered long ago. Here it is again, in a larger font so it's easier for you to read.
It's a slogan that Brexer's continue to use, as a straw man that they can deride.

Not everyone who voted leave is a racist. Many of them just don't like foreigners.
