Hot Water pressure/flow rate very low

Hi all,

we have just bought a new place and the water pressure/flow rate out the hot taps is very low. There is a Condensing Combi boiler, Worcester Greenstar 28i Junior that is in the loft. So there is a ground floor and a first floor in the house and then above that is the loft. I have had the water company in and they advised at the Company stopcock it was 1.9 bar and 50+ lt/min, 11lt/min at kitchen tap and 17lt/min at outside tap and 1.9 bar. This is obviously the cold feed.

Has anyone any idea where to start looking to see what is restricting the Hot feed please.

The setting for your HW @ 40 degree rise is 10L/min so 11L/min sounds about right its just how a Combi works and the flow rate is set at the boiler , if you increase it the water will be colder

If the cold is 11 l/m and the hot is a lot less, I'd start be checking any valves are open and then look for places where muck it scale could build up eg strainer screens on the boiler and hot taps.
If the problem is within the boiler then get someone in to service it and mention the problem. It may not have been cleaned out before.

You can check the flow rate yourself from the hot taps - just get a 10litre bucket and time how long it takes to fill.

Dont suppose you checked the actual hot & cold (then combined) water flow when inspecting the property, purchasing a weir cup £25 ish will give an idea of the flow. dont forget to remove restrictive & possibly blocked tap aerators when testing .

No, but i guess I should have done....hindsight is a great thing...

Tbh,any prior survey operative could have checked the flow rate. That measuring device is reasonably priced and needs no training even for a home buyers condition survey operatives.
