c'mon secures, my eldest has just got his insurance renewal through! £706, he's still 18!

We had a diesel fiat Grande Punto 1.3mjet 75hp, 2007. 49mpg mainly local mileage. Low insurance group. £30 road tax. Reliable cam chain engine. A nice enough car to drive, I would say some minor build quality issues (mainly with the door locks and handles, heater fan etc) but nothing that would leave you stranded and all DIY repairable with loads of guides on the web.

The main selling points if you research and buy the right model and age, ie the 75HP, is it has no DPF and no DMF - either one of which could cost you the value of the car if it goes wrong.
We sold it 4 years ago at 72k as it was too small but it's still on the road and going strong with over 100k on it.

Think that has a lot to do with the fact he has driven for a year and not presented them with a pile of bent metal!

My eldest is 21 now and paying £700 and something on a 2010 Audi TT TDI Quattro.

Beats the £2000 odd on her Corsa when she was 17.

Didn't the sudden deceleration recordrd by the telematics not give the ins co a hint that something more had happened than stopping for an old dear on a crossing? ;)

Seemingly not, side swipe, his fault.. dickhead bent down to pick his precious iPhone up that had fallen out of its cradle, yes, I know, just glad it wasn't worse.
