Afternoon,
I have removed several old patios (!) to restore the ground level outside my house before laying a new one and taken the opportunity to replace the old waste pipes with pvc plastic, and make a few mods before installing a new bathroom etc.
I was wondering how I should cover the pipes as they will be just below the patio level?
The original clay pipes were concreted in at a similar level.
The photo shows the run with a few blobs of concrete to hold things in place.
Cheers.

Are you having slabs or blocks for the new patio?

Either way i’d be tempted to gravel the pipe and bed your patio on a wet mix.

where you join the flex connector how far are you from the manhole?
was the original clay pipe a soil pipe or just taking the waste and rain water pipes?

Slabs.
I did think about gravel (pea shingle) around the joints and concrete elsewhere.

The flex connector is about a foot from the manhole which is just out of shot at the bottom. I'm fixed in terms of height and alignment really.

The clay took kitchen waste, which it will continue to do plus upstairs, toilet sink waste. I'm also adding a tee for the patio drain. Not ideal I know...

presume youve dropped a plumb line from your new WC outlet to the rest bend?

no, i dont mean the horizontal run - i mean the hole in the wall for the bathroom WC outlet down to the rest bend directly below.

Its a first floor WC and yes theres a run (with fall) through the house, then it comes out and comes down to ground floor level via four 45 degree elbows. 32mm pipe.

your replies are a bit too complicated for my question. i'll leave it there. but thanks for your prompt replies
