if it is the timer you will have to replace it, they are around the £50 mark you might get cheaper on ebay

"timeswitch 150 manual timer.."

this is one with the rotating dial, and tappets? Very popular with older householders because they are so intuitive in use?

Sometimes the tappets don't seat well, for some reason they don't go into their notches properly. You could give them a wiggle.

As they age, the "clockwork" mechanism does seem to get noisier.

Post a pic of your one to be sure.

With luck it will have the standard backing plate making it easy to swap in a replacement.

There are a few on ebay, but a used one might not be much better than your own

It's this one 150 timeswitch

Yes the clock is more or less lined up proper, although the hour hand which is painted on the dial , doesn't line up exactly, ie 9pm...the minute hand will be at 12 and the hour hand just below the 9...but more importantly if I set the boiler to come on say 8pm to 12pm..it doesn't switch on at 8pm, could be well after 8 or even before..anyway got a new one from eBay coming so will see how that works

they are easily fitted, the motors get weak with age and sometimes just get noisy but sometimes struggle when approaching the on times to push past the tappets

Rofl.....you ARE a genius....
He asked if it was the timer could he repair it or would he have to replace it washing machine man and compared to you my weeds are genius , they are certainly more grown up than you

If that pic is yours:

Time noted when you posted pic - 11:23 am, time set on that time switch around 00:23, I would say your clock is set wrong. Turn the clock to the correct time in the direction of the arrow and try that, if it still messes the time up then needs replacing. You also have it set to come on at 19:00 until 02:00 and 10:00 - 13:00

Info you’re unsure about using it :https://www.vaillanthome.co.uk/download/timeswitch-150-user-manual/

It looks like it is. Is you roomstat turned up? Is the heating dial up on boiler?

Time on first pic, it wasn’t set to correct time, so wouldn’t come on at correct time. The little triangle denotes where the time should be.

I don't have a room thermostat, yes the dial is set to timer..

Ahhh ok..didn't know about the little triangle..lol

I've set the timer to switch on boiler at7pm till 10pm..see if it comes on..see pic20190528_170712.jpg
