Cutting worktop to fit fridge/freezer

I want to take my fridge out and put a taller fridge/freezer. Would I cut the worktop with circular saw then finish with handsaw?

Will the remaining worktop (to left) be supported by cabinets? It seems to go into wall on right I'd that a problem?

Yes, cupboards support work top , easy enough to cut with a sharp handsaw.

if your not reusing the offcut and want to minimize the chipping screw a bit off 12mm ply or mdf to the scrap side as a sacaraficial bit off timber
you can also if your using a circular screw a baton on to the sheet material allowing for the base offset
draw a mark on the worktop front edge and on the wall at the back where the cut will be
draw a line on the sheet material where the cut line will be then match them up

if you want to save the off cut make the board a bit longer on the waste side and use 2 or 3 clamps on the front edge on the waste side

20mm over-hang to work top should be left if the dimension allow .

I used a piece of ply as a fence.when I finished the cut with a hand saw I was cutting down the wall and luckily just slightly the electric cable. Maybe u can see in picture
