Hi can anyone advise on the pointing i have just had done . It has alot of cement over the stonework . Should this have been brushed off before it dried Opinions . Thanks
looks very white, is it cement? and what are the bricks made out of, they look soft and weathered like sandstone gets?
On normal bricks with regular cement you can clean up poor pointing with an acid wash - but nothing about your image looks normal so not sure what to suggest. It does look a mess, have you got a picture before the job?
The old pointing hasn't really been taken out. This is with old pointing taken out
Don't beat about the bush Woods, just tell it like it is.It's Shiite
Same difference though (probably more important on stone than bricks) . If you use the wrong mixture in the pointing it will do more harm than good, also if the pointing is too proud it may attract dampness into the face of the stone/brick and then lead to frost damage. The pointing should always be weaker than the stone. Find out what mixture was used and double check with building control.Hi they are not bricks . Its a stone house
The wot?finished with the churn brush.
