Rapid 32 Boiler - Pressure Gauge Broken?

My approach is that "if it ain't life threatening then it ain't worth worrying about... Too much... Certainly not losing sleep over... Then again, I can't sleep sober

I think my anxiety is being increased by our new baby girl! I want the house to be warm enough for her and my other half!

Plus having a child has made me far more of a worrier!

Did you open the valves and try it like I asked ?

Sorry I didn't reply to your post.

The plumber turned the pipes off to check if the issue lay in the boiler or not.

I opened them up yesterday to test our Nest thermostat installation and the pressure dropped instantly.

Try not to give in to your anxiety... It's only useful in a do or die situation, which we no longer have to face on a daily basis any more... Thankfully.
Realising that is a good move forward (y)

If the system water was reasonably clean it sounds like the leak is on the new pipework.

If it needs topping up that often leak sealer won’t do anything. Time to contact your original plumber again and go from there

System water from where?

I've contacted the builder who arranged the plumber and he's arranging for him to come back as soon as possible this week.

When it was drained for the work to be done the water would have been dirty if this was a historic problem before you bought the house because they would have been topping it up and caused corrosion in the roads

If it was pretty clean it’s more likely to be connected with the recent works

Btw fitting a thermostat will save you around 30% on your space heating bills

Go for one marked Opentherm and make sure it gets set up as such for really efficient heating ;)

Ahh right, with you.

Presumably the plumber will have noticed that originally. Also, he says he fully commissioned the system before leaving. He capped the pipes where the rads were removed (x2) and fitted a new rad. He then re pressurised the system, left it for a while and when he came back there was no pressure drop...

I'm hoping the problem is with on the rads that have been capped, they should be easier to get to.

I've been doing some research on leak detection companies and there are quite a few. No idea how much it would cost, but I'm hoping the plumber admits a mistake and sorts it. Otherwise I'll be forced to claim on house insurance.

I doubt you can claim on your insurance. Where's the damage?

They will fix damage resulting from a leak but not to trace the leak and repair possibly defective workmanship.

Just start with what's been changed. I'm sure all the professionals here have had joints that held when cold but leaked when hot!

That's the first step, he's coming back at some point next week, hopefully soon.
