I am tight for space on a room that is being boarded out (moisture boards) and then being tiled. As a rule of thumb what’s the minimum depth of the dab, given that it will be squeezed slightly on pressing the boards down
An answer I welcome (as I want to save space!) but I am surprised that this would be adequate to hod the weight of the tiles I will be slapping on to this. I guess I need to add lots of dabs at this thickness?

A lot will depend upon the trueness of the walls, the accuracy of door casings and whether there are any cables or pipes down the walls. All can influence the amount of adhesive required for dabbing a board.
