Adding garage/office to alarm system/2nd keypad

Some PIR's have the facility via a jumper on the PCB.

Which brand and model is it?

how long is the delay?
is it really any longer than the normal entry?

PIR's shouldn't really be used for entry/exit zones on full set, in part set, the hallway PIR is usually a walk through zone in full set and an e/e in part set, so that when you walk down the stairs the PIR picks you up and starts the entry tones.

when using a PIR on full set, you open door and pretty much normally trigger the PIR? starting the entry but as your involved in opening closing the door you may not notice any delay.

if the PIR was on double knock (at all) and used for e/e on full and part set, then you would expect the delay to be similar????
double knock means two activations within the double knock timer.

I dont have any door contacts on the system. Just PIR’s

I have the system set on part and this omits the landing, bottom of stairs & kitchen PIR with the PIR facing the main front door set as entry/exit

i set the alarm last night and when i come down stairs this morning i walked to the keypad to disarm the alarm. The entry/exit PIR illuminates but the countdown indicator at the keypad doesnt start for about 5 seconds.

Seems strange it doesnt kick in straight away
