What an astonishing statistic. The UK has reorded more deaths today than the EU 27 combined. Thats a country with a population of 66m vs a bloc with a population of 450m.

It’s complete garbage to pick one piece of data and make comparisons. The U.K. is reporting different data to many EU countries. Many EU countries aren’t testing, so don’t know how many cases they have. We know our epidemic lags the rest of Europe.

The UK government (which is the figure reported by Sir Galahad) is only reporting deaths if they have been tested positive.
The other figure (ONS and excess deaths) is reportedly belatedly, and not included in the governments figures.
Thus the government is using the lowest possible figure it can find to report 'Covid' deaths.

The UK has no idea how many cases of Covid it has.
The UK is fudging the testing figures, so we don't really know how many tests are being conducted.

But you might feel pleased with yourself for having tried to make the distinction, and somehow tried to reduce the number of reported deaths due to Covid,
Bungling Boris might even take up your idea, and start reporting an even lower statistic.

Presumably that's what gave us the advantage of learning from their experience, so we could lay in supplies of PPE and pharmaceuticals, set our textiles and clothing factories to work, cut down on movement, cancel the Cheltenham festival, organise our local authorities test and trace organisations, so we did better than the other countries?

Oh no.

We did none of that.
