Not hiring a crane but I have booked two beam lifters to assist !
 
All done about 8 of us, some rolling some lifting and the real work completed by a couple of been lifters and its all sorted for £111

Yep so I may need to add a few pints to cost when the world returns to normal.
 
To be fair all but one were only here for an hour. Once it was on the beam lifters it took minimal work. The thought of doing it was actually harder than the doing !
 
Barring the steel only £111 paid out for the beam lifters. None of the people who helped were builders all just mates.
 
Me and a mate would have done that in flip flops. Maybe fashioned some temporary supports out of roofing lath (cheaper than 4x2)
 
Funnily enough one of them was a woman who turned up in flip flops

I would've done it on my own without any support, naked whilst eating a sandwich and drinking a beer...
