My daughter's one bed flat has 4 Tesy 500w convector heaters, Centaur plus C17 programmer, Grasslin Eco save immersion controller and a two element HW tank. She works very irregular shifts at the hospital so has to constantly change the programmer to suit her shifts and often just leaves it causing very high electric bills.

Is there anyway to convert this type of system to control via WiFi so she can remotely switch on the heating or HW a few hours before she gets home ?

Thank You
Chris

It's just a switch that can turn the leccie on

What is the current rating of the switch in the Hive / Nest ? It is designed to switch the control inputs of a boiler or similar low power circuit.

Can it switch the current ( 8 amps ) for 2000 Watts of heating ?

Hive has been used to control a 3 kW immersion heater but this was achieved using a contactor controlled by the Hive to switch the 12 amp supply to the immersion heater,

Does she want to be able to control the immersion heaters as well? If so, either Heatmiser Neo or the Salus Smart Home system might suit you better

If the hot water cylinder is well insulated then not really worth worrying about programming it to come on & off, if it isn't well insulated then spend your money on doing that.
Do you know what model Tesy heaters are fitted (some have their own cloud-enabled control system). Heating with electricity is always going to be expensive...the contacts on that Centaur controller are only rated at 3a so (if it is controlling all 4 heaters) there's either a relay or 2 in the system or the heaters have a control line or the controller is massively overloaded and will soon fail. Rented flat?
