That's only for the movies. If you're going to shoot someone then pretty much every police force says you shoot with the intention of killing someone.

Sorry state of affairs when having a domestic and then disobeying cops gets you shot so many times. In front of the kids, who were in the back of the car - possibly endangering them too.
So pleased UK cops aren't armed on the streets.
It's a sorry stae of affairs when a person behaves in such a way in front of their children. What a good example he was setting, disobeying orders, acting as if he was going for a weapon etc. And, it has just been confirmed that he had a weapon, namely a knife, inside the car.
Just the kind of role model children need, not!

And have you never had a argument? I've seen people brawl with the cops where I am (busy pubs), disobey them. In the USA, that'll get you shot. As I said, glad the UK police aren't armed.
No decent human being would shoot someone a meter away from young children, 7 times. 7 times! The cops should be held accountable, they are supposed to be made of better stuff.
The police had good grounds to believe so.
According to USA Today, he told the rozzers that he had a knife in the car.
He then went back to the car, and was bending down into the footwell when he was shot.
A knife was found in the footwell.

I agree with that 100%. If you give someone a weapon of some sort, they'll use it at some point if they feel threatened
In the UK that means being pepper sprayed, tasered or hit with a batton. In the states it means you'll be shot, particularly as the threat level is higher in states where guns are so much more prevalent and freely carried.
Same applies to the 'militia' that are carrying guns. If they feel threatened, they'll shoot.
The child that was wandering around armed with an assault rifle, who seems to have gone on to murder two people, is more mind boggling to me. Children shouldn't be entrusted with firearms unsupervised, that's just madness.
Although the response was unreasonable, It's hard to ignore the fact the man ignored police orders.
We have to remember in America police are always scared somebody has a gun.....

When tasers were first issued it was specifically stated that they would only be used in place of a firearm...
That would have been 2,500 shootings in the last recorded year!
And yet americans are told that they are safer if more people carried guns to protect themselves...
What isn't mentioned is that it mainly depends on which colour of skin you are in possession of!
