I Hope this is the correct thread for this topic

Iv had my floor screeded by a incompetent tradesman.

he mixed sand and cement on site either its not mixed properly or hes put too much sand in.

now its all dried and very sandy and dusty. every time you brush up u brushing up loads of sand.

want to laminate the floor but i want to sort the floor out before dont want sand coming up or is that ok? is ther anything i can put down to keep the sand settled to the floor ie self leveling mixed with pva or brush any compound to the floor?

Dont do anything to the screed - nothing
Ask the mods to transfer you to flooring forum where there's usernames dazlight and crazydaze who are fulltime floormen who will give you an excellent solution for your screed and laminate proposal problems.

sid:the sand /cement is returning to sand .

We've not seen the screed so - No you dont.
Get educated, expert opinion from professionals in the flooring forum before doing anything.
Ask floormen who know what they are talking about and not guessing.

A dusty screed surface doesn't necessarily mean it was mixed wrong.

Incorrect drying or too dry mix or being walked on before curing can all bring up loose sand.

If it was mixed wrong it could be surface Laitance

Do you know what mix he used? It should've been 3 parts sharp sand to 1 cement.
