hi,

Ive had two new PVC windows and a door installed in the spring and now that the winds picked up I can feel a breeze :(

I tried to adjust the little bolt thing it made it a little tighter but theres still a 1mm gap in the corners.

And the rear door is worse, I can hear people chatting as they walk past the back.

is the gap between the door and the frame, or (very likely) the frame and the wall?

use a smouldering joss-stick to trace the air movement.

Or a smoker, if you know one and are prepared to let him enter your home.

It's between the window and the frame.

Is there supposed to be a rubber strip in here?

no thats a drip groove.

Upvc windows have 2 draught seals one on the frame rebate, one on the sash behind the stormproofing

Upvc windows dont come with locks set up -they need adjusting for correct compression -look for the cam on the sash espag lock -and turn the that with a hex key.

if you get noise it could be from the trickle vents
