So for various reasons  I need to gain access to a corner of our kitchen where there are units. I think the most straightforward is to cut a hole in the side of the (double, sink housing) carcass. By my calculations that might allow a hole of approaching 40cm wide by near 60cm. Is that generally considered large enough to stick a head and shoulders through to allow a bit of work to take place behind? And should leave the integrity of the side of the cabinet OK?

Has anyone successfully done the same?

Thanks

I’m used to have floor mounted boiler in kitchen corner, I put adjacent base cabinet on large castors instead of legs and just wheeled the entire unit out to service boiler.

Were the castors the lockable type to prevent movement when in place?
