Amazing how the 'virus' knows how to notify politicians of it's intentions on a friday night...

Financial crashes also seem to have the same ability as well as the announcement of detrimental policies!

No doubt you think this is Bojo's fault and not down to people no longer bothering to wash their hands, keep their distance and avoid partying.

Of course knock knock thinks it’s Bojo's fault. Can’t win with Ellal and co - leave the lockdown until Monday and they’ll be screaming it should have been imposed sooner. Impose it quickly and they’ll complain they would have liked a couple of more days to enjoy themselves.

As you say, the virus is not the governments fault, it’s people’s fault that it’s spreading by idiots ignoring the advice given by the government. Even Ellal has stated that HE will be deciding which rules he is going to obey or not. He's that ****ing clever of course. He's definitely wasted, wiping bums on the night shift in a care home.

nice strawman

the local laboratories have been saying to government since March: let us do test and trace locally using the local system
but oh no, govt cant do that, they have to have a national system, no doubt because their mates can make some money

tell me Motorbiking was it the publics fault this govt chose to give huge PPE contracts to businesses owned by their mates and end up with PPE that no good

tell me was it the public that forced the govt to waste time developing an app that wot work on an apple phone, but Germany offered us an app with an open license -which was no good for this govt because it meant no money for Tory mates

This whole pandemic has been used as an opportunity for Tory self interest.

right wing governments that put profit and self interest first are the ones globally that have done the worst: UK an America

but hey Mottie is a Tory apologist so he cant criticise the government.

Could I ask, what is your understanding of the word strawman? It's seems different to my interpretation of the word?

Yeah, because we're too ****ing soft and allow people their 'rights'. I wonder whether the Chinese or North Korean youth will be allowed to ignore advice, massing in large groups, having block parties and generally ****ing it up in nightclubs?

Then that's the tories fault, for allowing us to do that *runs and hides from Mottie*

Sometimes, you've just got to accept responsibility for your own actions. Unfortunately, many people are unable to do that and despite being advised on how to protect themselves and others, they choose to ignore that advice but you just know that when they or a friend or a partner or a family member get it, they’ll look to blame others. Look at that idiot girl on the news this morning when she was told that pubs will be shutting at 10pm. "Well I’ll just have to start drinking earlier". :( No help for people like that and if there’s any fairness in this world, cruel as it might seem, they are the people that deserve to catch it and die from it - not those looking after them or protecting themselves.

China started this caper

Yes exactly foreigners ;)

There will be more such epidemics from these countries with these back ward practices

When all thus gets sorted ban all travel to these places or make it a one way trip.

I wouldn't have a problem if only the idiots died, but sadly they don't - and spread it to others more vulnerable.

To be honest, I kind of understand why people are fed up with this now. There's been wishy-washy leadership by Boris and Co, contradictions all the way through and Boris's way of delivery, a la Churchill style is out of touch with all of the country that are under 50. He's also made the mistake thinking that a, the UK general public is smart and b, not selfish.

Regarding pubs, councils have no powers to close them or insist that regs are followed, despite the body that represents councils asking gov for exactly that. I know because my nightclub pub landlord is laughing. We now have to try and get help from the police (they're not interested) and the County council body (smidgeon of interest). Pubs reopened nearly 2 months ago and every single weekend the landlord has packed the pub so people are standing shoulder to shoulder, played live bands and DJ Ibiza tunes so loud I can't block it out of my house. The kids in there dancing, singing, shouting. This scene is no doubt repeated up and down the country. To not give local councils the power to do anything is another mishap of gov. We all knew that a pub is one of the highest risk places for spreading, yet the pubs were reopened without a safety net.

CJD/BSE has its origins in the UK. Are you saying we are backward too? Perhaps you think we should become more advanced like our EU neighbours, eh?

No, that's not true. It's been around for centuries, 1st "probable" cases recorded in Europe in the 5th century. That said the well known and accepted practise of not feeding cloven animal to cloven was broken in the UK where it deemed that as long as feed derived from animals was sterilized, it was safe to use as animal feed. Sadly prions are neither viruses or bacteria and are not affected by sterilisation. Again though, to date less than 200 people in the UK have developed CJD from infected meat.
