Yeah, cut some strips of pboard to bring the studs out a bit. Or move them if that’s less work
Exactly what I was thinking. If I did affix plasterboard over all the studwork could I then dot and dab to the brick and plasterboard?

Nice one cheers! Will post results when doneNah, screw through to the studs
Yeah whatever you can find that brings it around the level of the plaster. If it goes further out you can caulk the back of the architrave.
Did you skim it?
even plasterers get it on the floor. main thing is you 2 coated it. looks a decent job. If I may offer a tip .next time tidy the edges up between 1st and 2nd coat with a wet 2” brush.Excellent thanks! Yeah I skimmed it, the edges are as bad as the picture would make out! Made second coat too sloppy hence more of it being on the floor lol!
you should really have changed the liner before skimming if that was the route you were going to take or added your extra trim before skimming and skim up to it.Quick question, with regards to extending the door lining out would it not be easier to just get a new one? I couldn't find a bit of strip wood suitable for my needs at the time so I bought a 100mm width x 19mm so I could cut it into strips. Just got a feeling after all the cutting then filling where the existing hinge cut outs are I may aswell just replace it??

Yeah I wasnt exactly sure of the depth, plus I guess the moisture would affect the new wood frame with plaster going off.you should really have changed the liner before skimming if that was the route you were going to take or added your extra trim before skimming and skim up to it.
