Boris caves in on fish

Say hello to Chinese, African, Pakistani and Indian immigrants.
They’ll stick out like a sore thumb on the building sites when immigration come a calling so I don’t think we'll be seeing many of them on site. (y)

I was a foreman on newbuild for a plumbing & Heating firm up to 2010. I’ve never been affected by the influx (other than putting a lot of shocking work right) but I know carpenters who were earning £250/£300 a day on pricework but 2 years later struggling to earn £100 a day.
Free movement had a massive effect of wages in this country.
I do not blame ANYONE who came to this country. I would have done exactly the same if my average monthly wage was £300.00 (Romania circa 2014.) I blame the eu. We have been “levelling” down since free movement. Funny enough, I can’t take on anymore customers now, im at full capacity. Limitless work but it doesn’t appeal to me to put right other peoples work who have now “ gone back home” .

Unlike Notch who believed posters on buses etc...... I voted on personal experience.
Is that wrong?

No answer to the wage suppression or levelling down? (Or our contributions amounting to more than half the eu countries countries combined)

Looking forward to it. No answers to my questions though.

We have been “levelling” down since free movement.

the facts dont really agree with that

"Reviewing 12 studies conducted between 2003 and 2018, MAC (2018) concluded that immigration had had little impact on average wages. Some studies (e.g. Nickell and Saleheen, 2015) had found a small negative impact on average wages while others (e.g. Dustmann et al, 2013) found positive average effects."

Tell that to vet who wages haven’t gone up on newbuild. I’m sure they will be more interested than me.
Stupid flatearther.
Unlimited cheap labour equals reduced/ flat wages.
Fool.

Or our contributions amounting to more than half the eu countries countries combined
yes its a popular statistic.
It means nothing
All it says is the EU has a number of small, poor countries.
well so does the UK. in fact the South East subsidises the rest of the country pretty much

brexiters never add up the benefits from EU membership.

take frictionless trade in the Single Market
after transition, UK will need to do somewhere in the region of 200 million extra customs declarations at £40 a pop
and on top there will be delays
so theres £8 billion quid just on one item.

cost of replicating REACH regulations: at least £1billion
