Water getting into car

Well as it's rained most of the week and been blowing a hooley, the smoke test has been delayed... oh for a garage... anyway checked the door seals, generally in good nick, but 2 were slightly displaced and one has a tear in it, but the tears on the interior side of the rubber.

So all door rubbers been reseated and treated with gummi pflege (rubber care) Also lobbed some fluoresene in the coolant, that needed topping up :( Let's see where we go from here.

Jaguar, no sunroof.

Which model?

This is very common on the models which have a cabin air filter just in front of the windscreen, which you change by lifting the bonnet and taking off the hatch cover. The chamber fills up with leaves and other detritus that clog the drain hose so that it floods with rainwater.

Yours will be on the passenger side.

It's an S type. The cars been serviced and had an air filter change, BUT..... I'd imagine it was the engine air filter NOT the cabin filter, so I'll have a look at that too.

here is an S-type.

On this one, it has been accidentally fitted on the RHS of the car.

Air conditioning drain disconnected - I know that’s common on some Freelander/Evoque models.

Smoke test today, 1st day for a week it hasn't been chucking it down. No leaks showing, so I'll follow up with the other suggestions.

Hmm, not a bad shout, the car does lose a bit of coolant, I might put some fluoresene into the coolant too. See if I can see any leaks from the heater matrix.

Good luck with that, cars tend to be built around the heater unit. Probably simply time consuming if you can DIY but very labour intensive if a garage takes it on.
I had this same problem with a Vauxhall Carlton years ago, didn't seem to use coolant but I never did find the cause.

Well it's on hold at the mo as I can't find the UV torch!
