As a customer, is now a good time to get replacement windows fitted?
On the plus side, there should be lots of firms looking for work. Maybe prices are low. On the minus side, it may be difficult to get hold of stock. What are the supply chains from the DG manufacturers like at the moment?

I have two "blown" units on the front of my house. Another unit is on the way out.
The easiest option would be to fit replacement units. But as they are 1970s diamond leaded, these may be hard to find. For this option, I would consider a small "one-man" firm.
The other option would be to replace two windows completely. For this option, I would use a local well-established firm.

My experience (waiting on new windows) if the industry is busier than ever.
Every company invited to quote (small local companies) warned of super busy period due to covid and long lead times.
My windows should be in now. Maybe after xmas is the current eta.
Ask some firms...

This is easy to answer right now ....

Industry - Incredibly Busy
Supply Chain - All over the place , one minute you are told you can get something the next you can't ( lot of Containers stuck in Ports awaiting unloading but things like PPE are taking priority, plus items for Christmas )

Upvc Frames - Longer manufacturing leadtimes than before and expect prices to be higher than before March

Glass sealed Units - Longer leadtimes than before March , price of glass increasing ( and I believe another due soon too from What I'm being told)

In your particular case , Diamond Leadwork should still be available , we have not had any issue with getting the Lead ( yet ) , just other associated products in the decorative glass sector
