Hi all,

I had an Intergas 36/30 HRE Combi Compact fitted in about 2012. For various reasons, it was only serviced once, some time in 2013 (or maybe 2014), which was a pretty quick affair. I had a chap adding and replacing radiators and he had a look at the boiler too. He spent a long time cleaning it out, and explained that the five-year service would have included replacing a number of seals, particularly the 'door' and 'inner air duct' seals, and if I was to get these, he would fit them for me when he comes back to do the rest of my rads.

I thought the boiler manual or the Intergas web site would have told me which consumables are needed, but if they do, I can't find it! What bits should I be getting replaced? I'm happy to get them ordered delivered here, as the heating chap said his usual supplier doesn't stock Intergas stuff.

Is there a 'service schedule', like you'd get for a car?

P.S. I was suitably lectured on the importance of servicing, and now feel like a naughty boy. :)

Cheers,
Richard.

Is there a 'service schedule

Not really, but there is a protocol for servicing it and a series of steps to go through.

It'll probably need a strip and clean .... the GSR engineer should know what's needed, just get someone recommended/familiar with these boilers (y)

The burner door seal should actually be replaced every three years. As sxturbo has suggested, The Intergas Shop will be able to supply you with all that you need

Thanks, I will get in touch with the Intergas Shop.

The heating guy mentioned a flue duct seal and a door seal/gasket, but he said getting Intergas parts was a faff. He has been very good with his work on my rads, and I am going to get him back for more rad replacements. It has taken me ages to find someone who will turn up when they say they will, so I want to keep him on side!

He did a strip and clean, and took some readings with some gadgets. He said a typical clean would be half an hour, but he spent most of the morning on mine. It was pretty disgraceful inside, so I felt a tad guilty...

It's not a faff, he can go to any merchant and get the spares, likely have to be ordered.

But it doesn't matter your helping him out and so as you say it keeps him on side and he seems to be a good one which is hard to find and if it's gonna take you half an hour of your time to keep him onside then it's half hour well spent.

I think the ordering was what he thought was a faff. He did say positive things about the boiler, even describing how they are a different HEX design than most, so I took confidence from that.

It is so hard to find people! It took me ages to get someone to paint the outside of the house, and I don't think I will ever get someone to do the loft...
