A geezer I know was fitting extraction fans at a swimming pool changing room, working outside on a scaffold he was holding a plate over the hole in the wall while his oppo marked the drill holes, he heard voices & giggling from the room, a large group of girls were getting ready for swimming

I was working with Eddie on a Next store shopfitting job "darn sarf" somewhere & he was in the window display box slapping the paint on. I remember it 'cos it was his 20th birthday that day. Some stupid young girls hanging out on the pedestrianised High St' stuck a note under the door of the shop inviting him out that night for a good time.

Saved me a job. I went off to the digs for a well earned sleep.

We didn't see Eddie for the next 2 days. Usually that would be put down to being arrested, or otherwise similarly occupied. But Eddie insisted that one of the girls was actually quite nice & thoroughly deserving of all 8 inches of his attention.

In those early days of Next shopfitting we worked very closely with George Davis & there is something deep inside me that says George would have approved . . . .

Yes, I have, but nothing happened. I arrived at an address. The front door was ajar. I rang the bell and called through it.

I was told to go straight upstairs to the bedroom.

Once outside the bedroom, I called out to make sure it was OK to go in.

I was told it was.

When I opened the door, the lady of the house was lying on the bed naked. There was a buzzing noise coming from somewhere, but it wasn't the faulty dimmer I had come to replace!

Excruciatingly awkward.......

But in 30 years, it's the only incident of its type that has happened to me.
