Hi
I have a 13 year old Potterton Performa 30 HE. Had been great for the last 12 years until I have got whistling sound in the last year which is reduced by turning the temperature of the water. Last few months, it turned off with lights (1) FLAME/Condensate fault and (3) Fan/FLUE counting from the lot flashing. A heating engineer came and got it to work and said, he just fiddled with the electrical connectors. 2 months later, the same problem happened to me and I fiddled with the connectors in the PCB and the 2 connectors at the condensate trap and tried resetting a number of times but failed. Then I got lucky for no notable reason and it fired up hot water and radiators for a couple of hours and then died again with the same two lights flashing. There was no whistling sound then. The condensate trap looked OK with one chamber nearly full and the other one empty. I am just wondering whether it is a simple fault to fix or it is time to buy a new Worcester Bosch 30 kW for £2350 and save future hassle. Thanks for any help.

Hi
Thanks and checking eBay i can get a refurbished one with a year warranty fir £40 or a new one for £105. Is it an easy one for one replacement and does not need any post installation readjustment and diagnostics.
I have basic knowledge in electronics and using multimeters, etc

How certain is your diagnostic before I make an outlay of pcb purchase and diy myself? Many thanks

work on them weekly and 99% of the time 2 flashing lights is the board .
when you put it on make sure the 2 thermostat knob spindles line up properly and the knob has full turn afterwards if put on wrong the knobs only quarter turn

Thanks .. I will get a refurbed motherboard tomorrow and tried. Some asked me to change the cable-gas vale/igniter today and vowed that it will be a solution but it turned out not to work. Will check out the motherboard option. Thanks again!
