I have this strange issue where my boiler shows a D letter and burner light is constantly on. I can hear the burner noise and central heating is not working since boiler never gets a break from filling the request of hot water demand.

The boiler was installed in early 2014 and serviced regularly. Around a month ago, the boiler had its heat exchanger replaced.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I have called gas certified engineer to come and have a look but he is too busy so not sure when he will turn up. Just wanted to see if I can get it to be fixed temporarily or does this sound like some part need repairing/replacing?

Turn cold water off , does it stop ?If so you have a leak or a tap on
indeed it was a leak somewhere. Thanks
We bought house few years ago so didn't know the pipe layout.
Only thing I know is that the leakage was downstairs somewhere and water was going straight down to the floor. The plumber said it must a quite big leak for the boiler to recognise the demand and fire up the burner.
Found the junction (T Junction?) upstairs where the pipe was being passed downstairs and put a stop there. Added a brand new pipe and isolated the leakage zone. The new pipe then connected to a junction downstairs where from which point we were sure there is no further leak.
Plumber did all of the work above but I was watching learning few things while he was getting along with it.
